Khaelan Hylande I adored Chaol in the first books right up to the point where Nehemia died... that and his reaction to Celaena being Aelin and how he treated her when she returned really rubbed me the wrong way. Like boy you loved her as a whole ass assassin yet you draw the line at Fire-Breathing Bitch-Queen? He kinda redeemed himself in Kingdom of Ash (No I have not read Tower of Dawn and I am not sure I ever will).
Odelia Cresswell I loved Chaol when I first read the books and, like a lot of us, came to quite dislike him as the series continued. I agree that he's perhaps one of the most realistic characters Sarah has created (though perhaps I think the realest is the farmer's wife -- Amazon doesn't deliver 'worn hot fae male shirt - post workout'. I've checked.) Wonderful post Rowan!!
