catalina's travel diaries

⋅⊰ maybe my experience can be helpful...

Being an emissary only suited those, who could travel without any problems. Many thought that traveling was the easiest part, but it definitely wasn't. Anyone could be taught to become a diplomat, but if one cannot travel well, they might as well have cursed their life for eternity.

Thankfully, I wasn't one of those. I had no seasickness to conquer, no crankiness to subdue (I have enough self realization that I am always cranky), no tiredness to get over with. Lucky, I know.

But of course, there is always more playing in the fields. Finding a place is hard, finding food to eat is hard, finding a gem in the city full of boring things is hard. I have gone and talked to the locals and the royals, and maybe my experience can help you next time you go travel.

I don't help often, so I'd suggest taking up the offer.

⋅⊰ the winds of adriata...

Adriata is best known to be the capital of Summer Court, and is one of the four major cities the Court boasts of. At first glance, it may not seem as a place for tour but a place for commerce, but rather it is a place for both!

Surrounded by a sea with mesmeriscing waves on one side, the city is a thriving hub of both trade and tourism. The buildings have a signature tan stone that you cannot miss, and each of them holds the secret of living in the thriving heat that surrounds them. On one side, there is endless water, while on the other, bridges connect them all to the rest of the Court. Although there are more ships than fishes in the water, some for fishing, some for merchants and some for ferrying.

Even in the scorching heat of the Summer Court, the capital city glistens uniquely. Actually, a perfect place to go for a relief from Winter Court!

⋅⊰ the hidden gems within a gem

We cannot talk about the places to go in Adriata, if the first thing on the list isn't the sea itself! Now, swimming is a must, especially in a hot weather like the one in the Summer Court. But feeding the fishes? Now that is something different! Near the city bridges, you will find so many stations where you can find fish food for even less then 5 gold coins. And then, well, find a corner for yourself and feed the fishes all day! It's quite pleasing, if I say so myself.

Since Adriata is also a place for trade, you will find the trendiest of outfits and most glorious of items here for almost half a price as compared to other Courts! Along the port are some shops that will surely give you the value you wish for!

If you haven't had the pleasure to experience the beaches, you definitely should here! In the east of the city is that Carpian Beach, with sand more beautiful than the jewels themselves! Make a sand castle, bury your friends in sand (the ones that are alive) or collect seashells; There is a lot to do!

⋅⊰ travel, food, sleep: the life

Since Adriata is also a main place for trading, the inns here are cheaper to accomodate the profit of the sellers. Here, the rooms can also be requested for by hour, since most merchants come in the morning and leave at the afternoon. You can get a room for as low as 30 gold coins for an hour, and that's the cost of one of the best ones!

Food, my my. You will find seafood to be extremely common here, and quite a delicious variety of it if I say so. Fishery is one of the main sources of income in this city, so you will also be supporting the locals by having an amazing dining experience!

Now comes the how-to-go-there. Seafare is a popular way to get there, especially through the rest of the main cities to get an entire feel of Summer Court. Those with wings are often adviced not to fly in the scorching heat, because there are more chances of exhaustion as well as dropping in the sea and never being found again. Horses and carts are also a good idea to get to the city, but the entry to the capital city through the bridges might cost a hefty tax!

That would be all for the day! I hope I have helped you out in gaining the best experience in traveling.
