Who here wishes we knew more about the Autumn Court? All your hands should be raised- mine is. If there is one thing that Sarah J Maas has made abundantly clear in her writing, it is that Fall is her least favourite season. But Autumn has given us *some* gems. We have the Lady Autumn and Helion subplot, Eris Vanserra, and most importantly everyone's favourite emissary Lucien, all hailing from Autumn. So let's take a look at what we know about the Autumn Court so far.
So right now, the Autumn Court falls under the leadership of Beron Vanserra, who by all accounts is an absolutely awful man capable of utterly vile things. He mistreated his son (Lucien), he's all around nasty to be around. He acts in what he thinks is in his own best interest which seems to perpetually be against the best interests of anyone else. Autumn Court really doesn't seem overly lucky to have him.
What Sarah J Maas didn't give us in a High Lord she gave to us with Eris Vanserra, heir to Autumn Court. Mind you it didn't always look that way- our introduction to Eris was really in what he did to Mor- and then how he hunted Feyre down. But if A Court of Silver Flames did anything, it was create Eris simps. There's more to this man that meets the eye- and, as we learn, he is as eager for his father's demise as we all are. If only the fans could create an army to help him out...
There's a quote that I derived that from that I absolutely cannot include in this blog post for our 15+ site and that's very sad to me. But anyway, that aside, isn't it interesting that the notable figures of Autumn Court have fire magic at their disposal. I suppose, were I in Sarah's shoes, I would have quite a predicament trying to decide what magic to give to the Autumn Fae. It says a lot about the environment that she was trying to create that Fire was what she went with- something so incredibly destructive.
You read that correctly- *twelve* hound dogs. That's how many Eris Vanserra has. What are you compensating for with all of those hounds, Eris? Also can you imagine the upkeep? One dog is a lot of work for a family. I've seen families with as many as three. But twelve? How does one even have room to *breathe*? That in mind I really hope he's a good dog dad and that those twelve hounds are being treated like future heirs of the Autumn Court.
All we can really hope for is that Eris' attempts to sabotage his father work out sooner rather than later.
