The Spring Court, the place where Feyre’s fae journey first began. Aside from questionable traditions, a temperamental leader and a ton of pollen the place isn’t so bad. Truly, a place covered with lush forest, rolling hills and clear lakes sounds like a place of fairy tales. Perhaps it's a situation of whenever one looks too closely into it, they’re likely to see the true nature of it all.
As you may know already, the Spring Court is one the seven courts of Prythian. Because it is one of the four seasonal courts, that means it is spring time all year around.
One of the particularly interesting perks that come with the Spring Court are great strength, oddly placed wind abilities and the infamous shapeshifting magic, all of which the high lord, Tamlin, possesses. He doesn’t just look like a beasty man all on his own after two weeks of not brushing his hair.
Below the Spring Court lies the borders to the Mortal Realm. However, the northern border is connected to both the Summer Court and the Autumn Court (home to our beloved Lucien).
Unlike some of the other courts, the Spring Court itself has no large cities. Is this lack of creative juices from Sarah? Perhaps laziness, dare I say? It’s too soon to tell. However, I have given a fair share of thought into it and have come up with my own ideas for cities. Although I’m hardly the one to decide what’s canon and what’s not, it is simply for fun.
As a whole it’s safe to say the court itself is cursed. Perhaps in the long term. With both a literal curse from Amarantha and cursed to having both Tamlin and his father as high Lords. It seems this place can’t catch a break. I mean, just look at the Tithe (the equivalent to paying medieval taxes, whack!!) or even Calanmai (I won’t be going into detail of this for the sake of the conversation). The place as a whole is old fashioned and that’s not all bad either. But it could definitely grow in some areas for the better.
Did you know that whoever becomes the High Lord of the Spring Court gets possession of not one crown, not two crowns but FIVE? It seems a bit excessive, don’t you think? But it’s still a perk nonetheless. Come to think of it, does Rosaceli even get ONE crown as High Lady of Terrasen? Bryn and Enza, we need to have a serious talk.
Like I said, all in all, the place isn’t so bad. It has potential. I see it. I just think that if the place was given a leader who was willing to put in the effort and time this court so desperately needs, then it could be able to truly thrive. It would do the place some good. Currently, as in within the series last point in time, the court seems to be barely held together by the seams. But who is a person that would be good to take over? Spoiler alert, and mind you this is just a theory, but some people believe that by some grace of the cauldron, Elain Archeron might just be that exact person the Spring Court needs to not only rule, but build up from the ruins. What do you think?
