'Rhysand'

Alright, full disclosure- even the people running our site have people to report to. And sometimes those people give us some super helpful suggestions about what kinds of content we should consider posting to our site to draw more people in. Recently we were provided with some of the top Google searches in relation to our fandom. Most of them are what you'd expect- Feyre, Lucien, Tamlin, the likes. And most obviously: 'Rhysand'. Hello Darlings, it's time.

Here’s the thing; everyone needs a swoony book boyfriend to…er…swoon over.  Luckily, Rhysand fits that role all too well - the fan theories absolutely go wild with this High Lord!  Buckle up, because we’re going to take a ride through the ages of the “I Love Rhysand” fandom.

*Contains spoiler alerts for Crescent City Books #2 and #3!*

Theories/ Observations for Rhysand

Rhysand is known as THE Bat Boy #1…among a few other things.  Shall I digress?

Rhysand is Controversial

Some people love Rhysand to the ends of the earth…and others are a little more wary of him.  A Nesta and a Feyre situation, if you will.  Some people think that Rhysand is the most charming fictional character to ever exist, but others point out that Nesta views Rhysand with less of a rose-tinted glasses appearance (maybe almost a little too unfriendly at times).  So, let us know which one you are!

Who is Rhys... Actually?

There are other theories surrounding the colliding worlds of Sarah J. Maas.  While some people choose to keep the books independent of each other, others can’t help reading them all and noticing some…similarities.  Similarities between Bryce’s brother and the Illyrians, shall I say?  Well, so not to spoil it any further, I’ll let you speculate!

Taking Inspiration

Green flags, red flags, beige flags…choose your racing colour and keep going!

Rhysand’s Moral Grayness Is…Definitely A Colour

We all appreciate a morally gray character; it’s basically a requirement of being a SJM fan, I think.  But regardless of whether you think Rhysand’s a green flag, a flaming hot red flag, or all his mannerisms are simply…beige, you can’t deny that he’s one of the most dedicated characters out there.  Kudos to him for his determination in - well - everything.

Identity Crisis

Listen, we’ve all been there…but has Rhysand?  What could a five-and-a-half century-old High Fae possibly have to have a crisis about?  More than you’d think, surprisingly…ahem.  Ahem.  At least it’s not us in the position.

Well? Was this the direction you expected the article to go in? I hope you were amused by our take on 'Rhysand' as we all here at WoHF were. Looking for a little more Rhys goodness? We *just* dropped the first part of a social media campaign that features him. You can find it here
