❝Don't touch the hair!❞

Hello hello and welcome,
to the very first edition of Staff Spotlight, where we shine a light on our amazing and lovely staff members. Ever wondered what the person behind the character is like? Wonder no longer because we'll ask the serious and tough questions to get to the bottom of who we are entrusting these jobs with! First up, as you have seen in the title, is our very own High Lord of Terrasen: Lamonte Draighnean. How does he keep his hair so clean and shiny? What are the secrets to being an amazing High Lord? You'll find out soon enough!

Caspian: What are some of your IRL likes/hobbies?
Lamonte: Well, even though I spend 90% of my life making tea I’m not quite sure that can pass as a hobby, I certainly have a strong like for it, however. I’m a bookworm and last I checked I have around 6 books I have orderer to read. I must confess that I love just putting on some piano ballads and wasting a few hours with a sketchbook in hand although those drawings will remain buried deep down as I am no Van Gogh. I do have a little bit of sport in me as I’ve been horse riding since my first lesson when I was around nine years old. Showjumping is such a freeing experience and who doesn’t love a nice shiny rosette?

Caspian:What is a guilty pleasure?
Lamonte:Oh gosh, call me greedy for it but I cannot resist having a Hot Chocolate whipped cream and Marshmallows. I do drink it just normally on a rarity but it is just so much better with!

Caspian:What's your favourite book and movie?
Lamonte:Bookwise I cannot say anything but ‘Am I Normal Yet?’ by Holly Bourne. It is the first of a series of three books, each continuing a single storyline from the perspective of the three friends. I picked it up from the store as I had nothing else to read and while I normally find myself preferring to read extravagant fantasy tales, this is such a down-to-earth tale and I honestly learned so much about mental health throughout the story. Bourne really proved she had the passion to be factually correct and I seriously can’t recommend it enough as it blew my mind with how amazed I was by it.

Caspian:How long have you been on WoX for?
Lamonte:Just about a year now. It is scary to think it has been that long even if it happens to pale in comparison to so many. In truth, I’m very much annoyed at myself for not discovering it sooner.

Caspian:Thoughts on the fandom?
Lamonte:I’m very much a newcomer to this fandom but, as said before, I do always love this genre and there is so much to love about everything regarding it. Both the books and the people the fandom comprises of are wonderful.

Caspian:If you could have any other job IG what would it be?
Lamonte:This is one that is obviously something thought through when applying but I chose High Lord of Terrasen for a reason. I have always had an interest in trying out Ceremonial Leader as the chaos one has the ability to create is something that pulls me in. That said, I do not have the creativeness to complete the demands of the job so it will simply have to remain aspirational.

Caspian:What's your job like?
Lamonte:I’m not quite sure how to put it into words but for the most part, it is like being a proud father. Every member of Terrasen I am proud of and especially being on the site since it launched allows me to have been there to see new student join the site and be there as they progress through. I’m yet to have any disobedient stags so only pride thus far.

Caspian:What do you have to do for it?
Lamonte: For the most part, it is fairly simple. Each week I will post articles for the Kingdom as well as awarding members for being incredible. In my case, I give out Sensational Stag award which is a job to be able to remind the members of the house that I recognize how amazing they are. No matter how many times I bang my head as I eat an item rather than gifting it, I love doing kingdom point milestones as well for the same reason. It’s always a good feeling to let people know I appreciate all they do.

Caspian: Easiest and hardest parts of it?
Lamonte: It is all pretty easy in my opinion. I enjoy all I do which gives me the motivation to get it done. Hardest I will give to those milestones but that is pretty much just my lack of brain cells to remember to not click eat...

Caspian: What's something mildly shameful that's happened to you IG/while on your job?
Lamonte: Oh lord, well I’ve already confessed to my milestone mishaps so I might as well add that now on three occasions I have posted an article that is just the written code rather than changing the pasting settings to ensure it is will publish the pleasant design. I don’t believe anyone has caught those so I’ve walked away without earning a spot on the wall of shame (for that at least).

There you have it, adventurers! I hope this interview with our High Lord was enlightening and that you enjoyed it. Tune in next time, with the one and only Stabby Big blue Khaelan Hylande. Who will indulge us with her own secrets.
Until next time,
