"For many of us, inspiration is triggered by the quips and quotations of others." - Emilee Day

Hello there users of World of High Fae! This series is a series dedicated to all of the amazing moments that have been brought to us by the author Sara J Maas. Every time she's made you cry, laugh, or want to throw your book across the room, those moments were all created by quotes or scenes in the text that hit an emotional cord. One of our personal favorites that you can find on our site is "You could rattle the stars,."

The full line is “You could rattle the stars," she whispered. "You could do anything, if only you dared. And deep down, you know it, too. That’s what scares you most.” but either way, it's still recognized as one of the most renowned and heartfelt quotes from the Throne of Glass series, and the third most liked quote of Sara J Maas' on Goodreads.com! Read on to see some other favorite quotes brought to you by World of High Fae's staff and users...

a court of thorns and roses

“He thinks he’ll be remembered as the villain in the story. But I forgot to tell him that the villain is usually the person who locks up the maiden and throws away the key. He was the one who let me out.” - Feyre Acheron

This quote is one that related back to the origins of the ACoTaR. There's always been talk of how ACoTaR was based off of the infamous Disney tale Beauty and The Beast. There are other stories that follow the trope such as Phantom of the Opera and G.R.R. Martin’s book Song of Ice and Fire.

The original thought amongst ACoTaR fans was that Tamlin was the "Beast" figure of the trope, then later when another particular indigo-eyed fae male stepped into the fire light come Calanmai, they started to have other ideas...

throne of glass

"It would not take a monster to destroy a monster – but light, light to drive out darkness." - Aelin Galathynius

This quote is really impactful because for the first few books we see the main character Aelin refer to herself as a monster. It's heartbreaking but in the end, heartwarming to be able to see her character growth and know that she's finally accepted herself for the powerful fae and woman that she is.

When you first read the quote, you see her comparing herself to the Valg that were close to overtaking their realm and killing those close to her. The Valg were creatures of darkness, but Aelin... Aelin was fire. She was light. And she was the opposite of the Valg. So yes, she might have done some monstrous yet bas ass things, but she was the light to "drive out" their darkness.

"I am a descendent of Ranthia Drahl, Queen of Embers. She is with me now and I am not afraid. My friends are behind me and I will defend them." - Lehabah

For those who have read Crescent City, you'll know this quote well. With out spoiling too much, this quote was said in the end of the book when saving the lives of her friends.

Though this quote isn't from the main character, she's most definitely earned her place as the first Favorite CC quote with what she's done for her friends. A passionate woman and loyal friend, Lehabah is a great character, and the series wouldn't be the same without her!
