A Class And A Half

Hello! Welcome to the blog A Class And A Half. This blog will be taking a closer look into the point of view that the Council Members have. Who are they? Well, they are the people you'll spot around site, sporting the lovely green colour! Not the Queen's; a brighter green than that! They teach the classes, ranging from Healing and Herbology to Hand to Hand Combat. Interested? You should be, keep reading!

And being presented is Aurelia Brightstar, who teaches Famous Personas!

Thoughts on having to teach?

I love teaching. Seeing those eager faces makes my day. Being able to teach the new generation is one of the best things I have ever done so far in my life. And sometimes I even learn a bit from my students! :)

What is your class?

Famous personas is a 5-years course starting in the third year and it focuses on all the famous persons we know in Erilea and Prythian. The first two years are for the most important persons in Erilea and Prythian, the third year is about famous Fae and witches in Erilea, the fourth year is about the different courts in Prythian and the last year is a combination of famous people of both worlds not already taken into account.

What is this course like?

I like to put a bit of practise into it every time. Next to the theorotical questions about the persons, like personality and appearance, the course also let the students imagine the person in their position, and what they would have done in the same situation. They can discuss this with their classmates and hopefully they'll learn a little bit about themselves in the process as well.

What's the best part?

I think the best part about the course is the interaction the students have with one another and the interaction I have with them. I love seeing their interested faces whenever I tell a little bit about the subject of a lesson, and how they engage in discussion and think about certain actions and situations they have never thought about.

What's the worst part?

A hard one, because there aren't many. I guess the hardest part of a lesson is when students can lose interest, and you have to think of something to get them back in there. That could be difficult.
